To write new chapter of FT, or not to write new chapter of FT...

On the one hand, big plot points revealed, and writing Nations On Boats is fun. On the other hand... it is almost midnight and big plot point is biiiiig and I do not want to mess it up.

Actually, we were a replacement for America.

Seriously, the founding of New South Wales was a direct consequence of the American revolution, England didn't have anywhere to put his convicts. And even then it took years to convince him that yes, it was time to move on, and that no, it really wasn't as hellish as it sounded oh no wait yes it is.

lol oh god I know this don't worry about that. It's kind of sad and has potential angst I've been meaning to write into fic FOREVER, but mostly it was just fail. And England running out of space for criminals.

But then again we stuck with England because America disillusioned us haha. XD

It's a significant part of my headcanon for this guy WRITE IT there needs to be more Australia fic.

I did not know that. /reads reads reads.
Reminds me of my favourite little tidbit of Australian/Russian relations ever. Late 1800s, Russia used to stop by Australia every now and then for a ball, stock up on supplies, generally be friendly and creepy. However, tensions were high between him and England at the time so England was all paranoid like "HE'S PLANNING AN INVASION WTF STOP INVITING HIM IN FOR DINNER!" And then once a Russian warship arrived at Sydney and the garrison there couldn't greet them with gunshots like they normally did, because they were out of gunpowder. And England's like "What would you have done if they attacked?!" and Australia just shrugs and points to his spider collection while England starts furiously throwing gunpowder and forts and stuff at him.

Why did you never love us like you loved America, England? WRRRRY? ;AAA; Convict stain man, CONVICT STAIN.

It may be because I am biased and RP'd too much Australia/America in my time but this needs to be ficced like burning. It's just... THE LULZ.

Australia just slowly backs up and up from Sydney, just out of Russia's reach, leading him on until suddenly they're halfway to Alice Springs and all the Russian's are dead. Like the Anti-Napoleonesque doom.

It would explain why there are a number of jokes about Australia thinking the "special relationship" is with him instead of England orz. XDDD

They're the coolest bros ever man. Bromance all the way. And idek I ship it as well now, if only because a majority of my f-list is American and when I asked what they thought of Australia they were all "OMG ARE YOU KIDDING? WE LOVE YOU." orz I am so weak.

I swear we need like... a counterpart to General Winter. Because we totally have one of those and we'd PWN Russia in the desert so hard. Or the jungle. We got damn good at jungle warfare. o7

I've never actually heard anyone in another country complain about us in person- kiwis don't count- we seem fairly well liked.

Commander Summer? Major Heat? I've considered this before, simply because imagining Australia go head to head with Russia is just too cool, even if they somehow end up getting along sometimes. I can't help but think it'd be a woman, because Summer is usually represented by a woman while Winter is usually a man, and she would kick ass. "You have fainted three steps into the Gibson Desert. You fail at life." Jungle warfare is our thing too, anything is better than the goddamn trenches.

I can't remember where I saw it now but it was the funniest shit ever. Especially because of ANZUS. And NZ being B| at America. |D

I have when I was on holiday in Asia last year visiting family. It was a little disheartening. I can never be sure if people actually like us or they just like Australia because they watch too many movies that make us out to be Crocodile Dundee.

Oh god MAJOR HEAT. I love that. Play on woooords. <3 Oh my yes. A woman for sure. And she'd have such a hot temper. Aussie is still a little D: at her because of all the drought she causes though haha.
