Sorry for appearing out of nowhere on an RP account but this lazy lurker is too lazy to swap accounts and can't resist commenting when her state is mentioned.
Hahahaaaa, California. Largest economy of the US, accounts for apparently 13% of the USA's GDP according to Wiki circa 2008, and apparently 8th largest economy in the world- yeah, what- and yet our budget. Oh man, we are so screwed. At least... $20 billion deficit for the fiscal year (and I've seen higher numbers around), and argh. State and legislature muddle around. And the UCs like Davis and Berkeley and LA protest cuts in the education budget and siiiiiigh. We're not going to be getting anywhere fast.
If California was a state-tan it'd be at the very least bilingual. It'd be a very good idea to learn Spanish here, especially if you want to get a job nowadays. |D;;
