If you watch any Cold War related movies/books/would then you'd think they do but the exact locations of where they keep the ones that are ready to go at a minutes notice are not really public knowledge (for obvious reasons though people like to look at Sat images and try to figure out where they're located) My guess though given how close it is to Russia and how high the tensions were back that and that the largest oil field in North America (that's known about...who knows what Canada is hiding under all that ice) is located there that yeah they probably do have a launch site there.
Note: I'm too lazy to do any real digging/research on any of this so I could be totally wrong... ;-)
Yeah it's huge...most of that size comes from it's island chains though it's still big on it's own rights. Oh looks like I lied Anchorage has 300,000 not 100,000 but still...that's pretty tiny. ;-)
