WOW ok, that was a great read. And the short, sharp segments were just really effective, really. They hit home without being drawn out and it works well! It's great how you incorporated so many character/country relationships in here (and Diaspora encouraging America's hero complex is just adorable.)
Ahhh biblical references -- I'm not sure about this, but re: Sarah and her son: > And selfish as she is, she does not give him to the Lord, but treasures him and jealously regards those who dare approach and harm him. Is this a reference to Abraham, who willingly offered one of his sons to God as a sacrifice when God told him to? And God rewarded him for being loyal enough to do that (and spared the son). This was many many years ago that I learnt it, but I saw that line and went "HEY, SOUNDS FAMILIAR."
A really great fic, and the notes were absolutely helpful beyond belief. Germany sending flowers on the 27th of January... ;___;
