1: Russia/America (Cold War ship)
Oh god these two, these two. I knew from the first time I set foot into Hetalia that I'd ship them, having just finished studying Cold War history. I try to keep it under wraps most of the time because a lot of people don't like it as a ship, besides which the reason why I like it is because it's so fucking twisted in a glorious way that just painful and wonderful to watch and enjoy and-

Lol like you didn't see this coming. Personally, I find it sweet that there's someone out there that's had the guts to stick by England for... 600 years holy crap guys. Especially since England has never worked well with Europe. Like at all. But he could still count on Port. In fact he counted on him so much that he stepped all over his toes in Africa and fucked it up gfdi England. Since them it's not been the same, since he's stubbornly staying out of Europe. /kicks his arse back in there ACT LIKE YOU'RE PART OF THIS CONTINENT NOT A SATELLITE OF AMERICA I AM SICK OF SEEING THAT HEADLINE.

3: England/America
Vanilla is good in moderation alright? Besides which it's a cute pairing, with a lot of quality fic, art and cosplay out there to explore. At the same time, it's so common that it's nearly boring, and as such I don't ship it quite as hard as I used to. Either way, it contains enough angst and tension to keep my satisfied, but my pet peeve is uke!England in this one. He can certainly be uke in other pairings, buuuuut no, not this one.
That said, 50% of my doujin are for this pairing. Maybe it's because it's common so I downloaded them a lot.
4: England/America/Japan (Isolationists)
And here, I get picky. America simply must be in the middle for this one. England and Japan both have 1500 years on him, and it's like with my England/America ship, I can't picture England as an uke-type person. He's too prideful. Japan has this subtle way of twisting things to how he wants so I don't see how relationships would be any different. America however loves the concept of love and he's more than a little greedy, so having twosatellite island nations at once? Totally fine by him.
I'm also twisted and weird and I have like three doujin of this pairing where Japan and England top the fuck out of the poor lad and it's glorious.
5: England/China
Speaking of twisted pairings! 8D Sweet fuck is this my potentially most impolite, incorrect, fucked up ship. Mainly consisting of the goddamn Opium wars, I know that if I were in my right mind I wouldn't ship it so hard. But I am not in my right mind, I am in my left, so here we go.
Speaking of China.
6: Rochu or Russia/China
Vast amounts of history in this pairing. The picture above shows why I love it so much, there's a lot of change over time. From when Russia was just little bb!Kiev Rus, to the first diplomatic relations between Russia and China, to the Allies in the Second World war, to the rise of communism, to the Sino-Soviet split, to the fact they're making up again now. Not nearly enough love for these two red-loving, oversized landmasses. Never enough.
7: EngRus
Lol have you noticed who's my fandom bicycle yet? Well, first they're my two favourites, so why not pair them. Second, The Great Game. During the 1800s was just such epic UST that eventually fizzled out. This an odd ship for me, since it's not something that's a constant. The conditions need to be that it's either these two during The Great Game dancing around each other and fighting over who owns the middle east (both want to escape their crappy weather I suppose), or if it's the modern day, it has to be Russia taking advantage of England's willingness to protect America, or some other weakness. Like that unanswered request I put on the kink meme when the whole of England was covered in snow and I pictured England not being able to get warm and Russia going all "I know how I can warm you up~!"
8: FrUK.
Another thing I knew I'd ship as soon as I stepped into the fandom. These two will never have a happy relationship and I am totally fine with that. They're better as "frenemies" or "enemy mine" or whatever, them getting along would be just weird. Granted they're not trying to kill each other anymore but their bickering will never cease and that's a good thing, it gives them a dynamic. And the history, oh the history, there's so much to play with because they're next door neighbours and constantly fighting and bickering and eeee~!
9: FraScot (Auld Alliance)
Damn it Cande stop influencing my pairings. While we're on the topic of France and the British Isles, let's stick Scotland and him on the list, shall we? Sweet lord, where to begin. Scotland's undying devotion to this man just makes me facepalm three ways to Sunday. Just. Give up, man, he's sleeping with everyone in Europe but you, including your brother. Another thing that was great about going to France to Bastille day; Scottish Guard. Oh god, France, why. It's that little thing you keep around that makes him think you secretly love him like he loves you. It's such a one-sided relationship these days, even though they used to be so close. I'm babbling but in short, they're plain cute together, and Scotland's loyal as a thoroughbred dog. Even when he's in a union with a guy he hates.

Look at these two derps LOOK AT THEM. LOOK. Historically nobody has had more of an influence on South Italy than Spain has, and it shows all over the place in how he eats, acts and talks. The fact he's taken this all to heart is just sweet, even if the tsun is strong in this one. Spain may never get into his catholic pants (seriously the Vatican is in his vital regions just give up already España) but that won't stop me shipping it hardcore.

Oh yeah the rest of Europe, can't forget about them. Well Austria and Hungary are just a sweet couple, but Prussia adds a dynamic, a bit of spice to an otherwise plain relationship. Not only do these lot have infinite amounts of history with each other (Seven years war, Crusades, both world wars, Communism) they create such an interesting relationship triangle. It sometimes seems like Prussia is intruding, but once he's on top of Austria making him make interesting noises you'll find Hungary's not going to stop them. Maybe take out a camera.
Also I am deeply jealous of her, since these two are sexy as hell. Cravat cravat cravat and albinism uuuuuuhhhhh *A*

It's adorable, it's practically canon, and even when Liet's longing for a hard surface to smash his head against Poland's still there for him, in a weird way. "Like, I don't care if you hate me, I still like you". D'awwwww.

Same thing, different time period plus amnesia. I subscibe to this theory because it's 1: too sad to break them up after HRE said he'd be back and finally confessed his love to Italy and 2: because it's cute damnit. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

And the fandom bicycle returns! It was the doramaCDs that sealed this one for me. In Japan's one, he's looking after England who has a cold, (though he does call up America and France) and in England's one, the two of them discuss each other's ghost cultures.

I... there was this one fic on the kink meme that I can no longer find that was really quite adorable with Canada passive aggressively ranting to himself throughout a meeting and nobody listening to him and then at one point Russia turns and compliments him on his brutality in that cutesy little kid way of his and requests they play hockey some day and then they do and it's brutal and awesome and.
If it's not romance it's bromance of the arctic kind, okay.
16: Canada/Ukraine
And while we're on the topic of adorable relationships with Slavs, Canada and Ukraine are just a given. I can't even explain why I ship this, beyond the fact it's adorable and there are apparently a lot of Ukrainians who moved to Canada when there was no food back home. Canada, meanwhile, is a lucky son of a bitch. You make France so proud, son.
17: Aus/NZ
I can't. I just. Even though they're siblings. It. I. I have no excuse. orz I blame Oz.
18: India/China
I swear I will finish the giant fic I did for these two. In all the time they've existed (which is a very long time) they've had so many different stages to their relationship, witnessing history and the rise and fall of Empires together. China grew much faster than India did, ending up paying more attention to his younger siblings than her. And yes, they've had their fights, especially between 1950 and 1990 when China was still getting to grips with communism and stirring up trouble in Tibet. But now they have this awesome relationship (and a peace treaty signed on my birthday, woo!) and it's quite sweet to see the old dears owning the world and putting them in their place now that they have $10 billion dollars worth of trade between them mwahahaha.
And since there is no canon India and nobody ships this but me, I drew the pic myself, in under an hour. Phew.

These two were the only ones I could find but yeah, I love it. Rome you're such a fucking pimp, I love you so much. XD He be slappin' hosand they be slappin' back. In your tribes conquering your lands, invented central heating oh damn son you better fuckin' respect.
