Nickname origins.
So I'm bored and I finished writing FT early and then Nena was rambling to me about Russia and told me that "nenaglyadnaya" means "adorable" or "beautiful" in Russian.
She apparently didn't see the whole "Nenaglyadnaya", but I nearly cuted myself to death.
So then I doodled something cute.

Ain't she a squish? Hands off she's mine B|
So yeah, now instead of Nena's nickname coming from Veneno (Latin for Poison) -> Neno -> Nena, it is now short for "adorable".
Also I did me since I was bored.

Hi guys. So my nickname derives from my last name, Dove, which a friend once said was basically an albino pigeon and the name Pidge stuck.
Since I'm a curious bugger, what's the origins of your nicknames, flist?

If it makes you feel better, in secondary school people used to call me Boris, because I was so obviously a gay rugby player.
I don't even know.

Boris?

Nutmeg=... I actually don't know, a friend gave it to me and I decided to use it as my online name for certain things orz

Nutmeg sounds like what Hades calls Megara in Hercules. o___o Awesome.

Fff I suddenly love this nickname even more |D Megara, one of the first characters to make me like my name orz

Moomin = I loved the Moomins, my parents kind of stuck with that.
Eli = Short for my middle name.
As for the username, Mille settencento = Italian for 1700, I needed a username orz

My internet nickname was something I made up for people to call me because I don't like my real name. It stuck (mostly) so... oh well.
Lovelylurker is something I totally made on the fly because I lurker on livejournal and I... just added on the first word. XD Only people from LJ call me Lurker.

Eia is a cool name, but for some reason I'm stuck calling you Lurker now. o__o;;

It was given to me by a boy I had a huge crush on in highschool. We were lulzing about "Ali G" and then he turned around and went "ahaha if you were gangsta your name would be Toni D!" ...And I HATED it because it was a "boy's name". |D And because my grandad had the same nickname (only he was Tony). Eventually though I just grew used to it because my friends just kept calling me that and now it sort of makes me dere orz.
"Cande" though...Cande is just because CandeSCERES is a mouthful and people are apparently lazy. |D Plus it sounds like "Candy", so. <3

What does the whole word "Candesceres" mean? If it means anything at all. (Oh good, I'm glad you're meant to say it "Candy" because that's what I've been doing. >>)

As for real life, oh boy.
Don't laugh, please, because my real name is América. Exactly.
Friends usually call me Ami (not pronounced like Amy), because they say it's easier to remember. Family calls me Meme of Jirra (thanks, grandma). And if people feel evil, since a very famous (and crappy) football team here in Mexico is called "The Eagles of the America", people refer to me with names of another teams, such as "Necaxa", "Chivas" or "Toluca".

And my username... I was looking at my family tree one day and say Eleanor. Apparently I thought changing the spelling would look cool or something I started using it everywhere. And I like cats.
