Good to find another nation that isn't all YAY over it's national day/independance day. Portugal doesn't have an independance day. There's the restoration, which is on December 1st, and the national day, 10th of June. Because the 10th of June is so close to another holiday, (at least in Lisbon), St. Anthony's day, most people just take that week off or something. Nearly no one goes to the celabrations of our national day, we just don't care.
