Submitted my vote a few hours ago, now just watching the results since I can't sleep.

Please god don't let it be Tories please please please I'll take the goddamn GREEN PARTY over the Tories. (Though I hear they have a seat in somewhere tiny like the Birmingham constituancy in which case good on them)

Edit [1:00am]: UKIP have 7,630 votes.

God fucking damn people are you that desperate to be isolationist? And even worse, the British Nazi Party have 8,735 votes. Hello guys, we are not the empire anymore.

Lib Dem's kicking some Conservative ass though. Labor's surprisingly ahead.

Edit [1:10am]: Democratic Unionists are coming out of left field with 3 seats already. Labor's got 7, doing surprisingly well considering how everyone was predicting they'd be kicked out of office.

Scotty's got 7,564 votes. Ahhhhhhhh. And BNP and UKIP have hit 5 figure digits shit.

Edit [1:25am]: Labor has 11 seats, against all predictions. How desperate are people not to have Cameron? This desperate.

UKIP and BNP = sucky and fail white British supremacists.

Plaid Cymru = a Welsh only political party. You know, the ones that Wales disowned in FT for blowing up England.

Sinn Fein = Northern Irish party that campaigns for independence from England and potentially reuniting with Ireland. You know, exactly what happens in FT.

Eh, with the major parties that's how it works, like Labor (Gordon Brown), Conservative (David Cameron) and Liberal Democrat (Nick Clegg). You go for the leaders. But the others have ideologies and stuff you're meant to get behind.

The way the system works makes sense in a weirdly convoluted way. Each area of England is divided up into Areas, and then further divided into Constituencies within this. Each Constituency votes for people from their area that have chosen to represent a party (my area only has 5; UKIP, Lib Dem, Conservative, Labor and BNP orz, while other areas can have more or less, and therefore less options) and the votes are tallied. Whoever wins the most votes in that Constituency gets a seat in Parliament and a chance to shout their ideas and hope someone hears. Get enough people from your own team and you're bound to be heard.

So long as it isn't Conservative or BNP that gets in power. UKIP I only found out about recently and nngh... can't agree with their complete withdrawal from the EU policy even if I do understand and agree with people's want for us to retain our individuality and independence and the fear that we'll lose it because of the EU. The votes for the BNP though make me sad people believe their bullshit on the immigrants being the root of all our problems etc. /keeps egging Nick Griffin eternally

BNP makes me alternately sad and angry because those votes were probably by Uni kids just doing it for the lulz, or people who actually believe their bullshit. I thought we were better than that guys, come on. I understand UKIP but I can't agree with them either; we're just not financially stable enough to isolate. We need Europe.
