I sort of collect coins. Mostly the old Irish pounds/punts/whatever, because after we converted to the Euro there was a shitload of them lying around in the house. Back in the day they all had animals on them- I think the pound had a deer on it. Apparently that was because when the currency was designed in the 20s they wanted to put saints on them, but then someone complained that they would be used for gambling so we got animals instead.XD

I also have an English shilling, some South African rand, 2 American dollars and some francs.:D

Hey, I've got a load of old Irish coins too - I always loved the animals, but I had no idea that gambling was the reason for them! I thought it was just the lingering Celtic animal-love, becuase it included symbolic animals. Cool, thanks!
