BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT~ <3

Animals do not care what the hell you call the relationship between you and them. A dog or a cat will not give a name to it because they don't think in words.

I dunno, stuff like this just irritates me, my grandma being a dog trainer. Dogs are not meant to be equal with humans. They do not do the equality thing, if anything it makes them uncomfortable. They think in hierarchies. Whoever is "pack leader" is in charge, and then you have the scale all the way down to the bottom. And if you want an obedient dog, you have to make yourself "pack leader". And with the resposability of looking after the rest of the "pack" off their back, the dog will relax and let the leader take the... well, the lead. In both senses of the word.

Idk if it applies to cats; I've never owned one, but they seem kind of aloof anyway and couldn't give a toss what you called them as long as there was dinner and hugs involved in it.

In other news, I've done my knee in and it hurts like a bitch.

I dunno, my cats definitly seem to be aware of our relationship. They just look at me like "Ah slave, there you are, now rub my belly!"

But poor you about your knee! *hugs*

My cats... I don't think there's something like guardian or owner. It seems that for them, cats, your house and yourself are some place to keep them dry and someone who gives them food.

And my dog is a very stupid one. So I don't know.... He is afraid of my cat and the mop, he hates the broom and seems to have a special relationship with the vacuum.

As long as my cat gets fed, gets let in and out, and has the ability to randomly come sit on me/what I'm working on/the dog, I don't think he really cares.

And neither do I.

As someone who owned a cat, I can safely say, cats could care less how you think of them so long as you give cuddles on demand, let them go where they please, and remember to feed them.

The point isn't what the animals think, though. It's what other people think. Using 'owner' implies that the animal is a fungible piece of property, and makes people more willing to mistreat them.

Ouch. You have my sympathy.
