Disney in general taught me how to talk. :| But the biggest contenders were:
The Lion King: I can sing the african bits of the songs, and I own the soundtrack from the musical. To be fair, this one is my sister's fault. She's obsessed. Either way I've watched it ad nausium with her. Watch count: Over 9000.
Hercules: "Honey you mean Hunkules." Let me tell you a funny fact; my area is so dominantly white that the Muses were my first introduction to black music, as well as... black people. Oh yes, my upbringing was so very diverse. Some people in my class even had *gasp* a tan! Seriously the first black person I met was when I was in secondary school. Nice guy, fawned over by all the girls though for being ~*exotic*~ Anyway, I can recite the whole thing from memory to this day. Watch count: somewhere around 150 times.
Peter Pan: Um, this one I kind of took to heart for a long time. I refused to "grow up" like the other girls, put on make-up and flirt with boys and try to get drunk. I stayed inside with my books and my movies and my computer instead. And it's turned me into who I am. But I didn't watch it that much in comparison to the others. Watch count: 50 times at least.
The Little Mermaid: She had red hair. You have no idea how much I clung to that concept. Sure, it was straight and flowy and nothing like mine, but damnit, a kid has to have something to make her feel better about herself. Watch count: 50 times, or there abouts.
Mulan: She was awkward, she was kick ass, and she was Chinese. I was none of those things, but I wanted to be.I even had a barbie doll of her. Also the song "Reflection"... yeah. Watch count: 50 or so times.
Other than Disney:
Annie (1982 vers): I. Fucking. Loved. This. Movie. I watched it until the tape died, and then mum got me another one, and I did it again. In the end, four copies of this movie surrendered to my obsession with (as far as I knew) the only other little girl in the whole wide world with curly red hair like mine. This, unfortunately, also lead to me running away a lot so I could be an "orphan" and hopefully get picked up by someone like Mr Warbucks. I think this is also the origin of my love for dresses like the one Annie gets to wear. And possibly my American accent. Idk. Freud would have a field day. Watch count: OVAR 2839584900!!
The Prince of Egypt: Another movie I watched so many times I killed it. Only the first copy though. I learned the Hebrew parts of the songs off by heart. Watch count: about 200 times.
Madeline: ... what is it with me and movies about red haired orphans? Well, the reason I loved this one was because she was red haired too, but also because she beat up boys, which I could never get to do. Watch count: around 100 times.
Matilda: Um. Adoption. Close to being orphaned anyway. I pretended to have psychic powers for like ever after this movie. Watch count: 70 times
Space Jam: I... can't explain this one. Watch count: 50 times at least.
Yeah, my childhood was so normal you guys. orz

Date: 2010-07-02 02:19 pm (UTC)I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY KID THAT DID THIS okay, I didn't want to get adopted. I just wanted to live a gritty, survivalist street life. I can't remember if this was influenced by Annie or that cat version of Oliver Twist though. Either way, I probably sung "The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow" at some point.

Date: 2010-07-02 02:49 pm (UTC)The weird thing is, I used to write down fiction things I bought with my meager savings like I was an accountant. I still have my diary from back then with the evidence. But I didn't use Australian dollars, I counted everything in pennies. Like, an apple was 2p, corn was 4p and so on. For some reason, I always associated being poor and living on the street with England.

Date: 2010-07-02 03:16 pm (UTC)Ironically, I used dollars in everything. Like, I even called pound coins dollars. No wonder everyone thought I was American.

Date: 2010-07-02 03:19 pm (UTC)I actually didn't watch much American TV as a kid, but I read tons of English books and my mum is English so I had a really strong pommie accent. Everyone thought I was British. Now my dad reckons I have an American accent, but everyone who isn't Australian thinks I have a light Aussie accent and then no other noticable one.

Date: 2010-07-03 12:09 am (UTC)And The Little Mermaid. I liked that mostly because she was a redhead and I'd always loved red hair and wanted to be ginger. 'Cause I'm weird, apparently.
